Senior Hockey

From a passion for hockey, photos and history, this work-in-progress website was started in April 2012 in an attempt to compile a digital archive of photos and other information to help document the past hockey history of Newfoundland, Canada. The goal is a collection point that's purely educational and not-for-profit.
Inspired by my boys in Gander Minor Hockey, I started to document Gander's hockey history but eventually I began to research other areas. My dad always told me how great the hockey was in the fifties, especially the games between the Grand Falls Andcos and the Buchans Miners. The fifties may be considered the heyday for senior hockey in the province but it was also a key era for organized minor and junior hockey across the province.
As for the archive, care is taken to give credit where possible for Information or photos that are either contributed or for material copied from other websites. Any contribution towards enhancing this archive is much appreciated.
